- This page will eventually contain driving directions from Augusta(Georgia), Atlanta(Georgia), Raleigh(North Carolina), and general directions from closer locations. Please note that all of the bridges into New Jersey are toll roads, the mileage and toll information will be included once I can acquire that information. All of the tolls accept EZ-Pass, which appears to be interchangeable with several of the similar programs in the northeast, I have no idea if it will accept the Georgia card or if North Carolina has something similar that it will accept. The tolls going northbound total $11 and southbound total $9.
- Via I-85 (From Atlanta or Raleigh):
- The trip takes approximately 14 hours from Atlanta and 9 hours from Raleigh. The easiest way to get to New Jersey from Atlanta is via I-85/I-95. Take I-85 N through North Carolina until Virginia where you will take I-95 exit to Richmond, VA(you might want to take the bypass around Richmond but I've never found the traffic to be that bad). Continue with From the Washington, D.C. vicinity.
- Alternate Route from Raleigh:
- Alternatively, you can take I-40 E to I-75 N. Take I-75 N through North Carolina until Virginia where you will take I-95 exit to Richmond, VA(you might want to take the bypass around Richmond but I've never found the traffic to be that bad). Continue with From the Washington, D.C. vicinity.
- From Augusta, Georgia:
- This takes approximately 13 hours. Take I-20 E through South Carolina to I-75 N. Take I-75 N through North Carolina until Virginia where you will take I-95 exit to Richmond, VA(you might want to take the bypass around Richmond but I've never found the traffic to be that bad). Continue with From the Washington, D.C. vicinity.
- From the Washington, D.C. vicinity:
- Once you get in the vicinity of Washington, D.C. you will see an exit for I-495 E/I-95 N towards Baltimore. Take this exit and merge onto the Capitol Beltway/I-495 E/I-95 N. You should see signs on the right hand side of the road that say "Outer Loop". If they say "Inner Loop" then you're going the wrong way and while you will get there it will take longer(on the return trip you will be on the "Inner Loop"). While on the loop you will leave Virginia and enter Maryland($2 toll at Fort McHenry Tunnel) and then Deleware. Eventually you will exit the loop at the exit for I-95 N/I295N towards NY/NJ. You can take either I-95 or I-295 into New Jersey, with I-95 you will take a gigantic bridge(technically ovepass) over Philidelphia whereas I-295 will cross the relatively smaller Deleware Memorial Bridge. Both ways probably take about the same time and require a $5 toll to enter Deleware and a $4 toll in Deleware. More specific ending directions will be up soon.
